Pavlos works for Harvard's Institute for Applied Computational Science (IACS), where he is the Scientific Program Director. Originally a Nuclear Physicist, Pavlos has made important contributions in the fields of supercomputing, astronomy, and machine learning, in collaboration with doctors, astronomers, statisticians, and computer scientists. He is a contributor to the Pan-Starrs Survey, and was the elader of the team that developed one of the latgest databases of time series. He teaches the popular but hard Applied Math course AM207:Stochastic Optimization at Harvard, and is developing IACS's Capstone course.
Rahul trained as an astrophysicist, and used to work at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics as well as at Harvard University. He was part of teams that developed one of the largest databases of time series and a semantic search engine for astronomy publications at NASA’s Astrophysics Data System. He was one of the people behind the Harvard Data Science course CS109, and is helping prepare the Harvard IACS’s Capstone course. He is also the instructor for Harvard Library’s Data Science Training For Librarians course. He is currently hard at work on the book “Grokking Data” for Manning Publications.
